What is Hyperliquid?
Hyperliquid is a fully on-chain perpetual futures exchange built on its own Layer 1 blockchain. It processed over $100 billion in cumulative trading volume — making it the leading on-chain perps DEX by volume.
Unlike most DeFi protocols, Hyperliquid runs entirely on-chain with no off-chain order matching. In November 2024, it distributed over 31% of its total HYPE supply to early users in one of the largest airdrops in crypto history — with over 1,589 wallets crossing the $1M mark.

The Two Layers You Need to Know
To maximize your Season 2 chances, you need to be active on both layers:

The base trading layer. Perp trading, spot trading, HLP vault deposits. This is where most Season 1 rewards came from.
Layer 2
HyperEVM
EVM-compatible smart contract layer launched Feb 18, 2026. DeFi apps, lending, DEX, yield farming. Most users still aren't here — early mover advantage.

Go to app.hyperliquid.xyz
Connect your wallet (MetaMask or any EVM wallet). Hyperliquid runs on its own L1 — no gas fees for trading.

Bridge USDC from Arbitrum
You need USDC on Arbitrum to deposit. Use the native bridge on the Hyperliquid app. Minimum $10 is enough to start.

Complete account setup
Accept terms of service and set up your account. This registers your wallet on-chain as a Hyperliquid user.

Bridge HYPE to HyperEVM
Get at least 5 HYPE tokens and bridge them to HyperEVM to activate your presence on the second layer.
2 Farm HyperCore (Main Layer)
Season 1 rewards were based heavily on trading activity. Season 2 is expected to follow a similar model — volume, fees paid, and consistency matter most.

Trade perpetual futures
Every $1 of perp volume builds your score. Aim for consistent daily volume rather than one large trade. New trading pairs get a 1.5x multiplier for the first 30 days.

Provide liquidity (HLP vault)
Depositing into the HLP vault earns a 3x multiplier on your Season 2 allocation. It's the highest leverage activity on HyperCore.

Trade spot markets
Spot trading on unique pairs also counts toward your score. Diversify across multiple pairs for better positioning.

Stake HYPE tokens
Staking yields around 2% APR in USDC rewards. More importantly, staked HYPE earns 8 points per token per day toward Season 2 eligibility.
3 Farm HyperEVM (New Layer)
HyperEVM launched February 18, 2026. Most users are still not active here — making it the highest opportunity layer right now. Key protocols to interact with:

The main DEX on HyperEVM. Swap tokens, provide liquidity. Basic interaction establishes your presence as an early user.

Lending protocol on HyperEVM. Deposit HYPE as collateral, borrow stablecoins. Hypurr NFT holders get a confirmed points boost.

Yield farming protocol. Stake LP tokens to earn additional rewards on top of base APR.

ENS-style naming service on HyperEVM. Registering a .hype name is a low-cost way to add on-chain activity and potentially qualify for ecosystem airdrops.
